Todd Bentley’s Angel in Lakeland

I really don’t want to defend the revival in Lakeland too much, because that is not my job. However, this afternoon, as I was looking up the scripture where Paul and Barnabas parted ways, I stumbled upon another interesting passage. Do you remember that an angel led Peter out of prison? If you would like to read the account, it is in Acts Chapter 12. I noticed some things here that I have never had reason, until now, to consider.

Here is Peter, in prison, put there to be abused and mistreated. (Our enemy will do that to us, won’t he? He just likes to abuse and mistreat us and keep us in chains.) Anyway, fervent prayer was made for him by the church to God. He was sleeping between two guards, bound with chains, and there were guards in front of the door. There was no apparent way out. (Like many of God’s people, saved or unsaved, feel…no way out).

Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared…you might call it an angel of light, because light shone in the cell when the angel appeared. The angel only said these words…”Get up quickly”. (He also struck Peter when he said it. Had to get his attention I guess…maybe angels like to do that…to get people’s attention if they are about to help you…I don’t know…just a guess…) Then it says, “And his chains fell off his hands.” The next thing the angel says is, “Gird yourself and put on your sandals.” and then, one more instruction…”Wrap your cloak around you and follow me.”
